I have recently done my annual lecture a ISAE/SupAero, in Toulouse, France.

The title of the lecture is

Cockpit Resource Management-for Business Managers.

The students were engineering students enrolled in the Aerospace Project Management-Advanced Masters program.

After graduation I believe that our students can look forward to some very interesting career possibilities, not the least among the many start up companies engaged in advanced research, development and manufacturing. The electrical propulsion, hydrogen and EVTOL industry will be needing a large number of exceptional engineers if our stated goal of aviation with no or very little impact on the environment is to be reached. Just the kind of engineers and managers that are being educated at ISAE/SupAero.

The lecture is an introduction to CRM(Cockpit Resource Management) a management tool for high pressure, time limited problem solution.

Over the last 50 years , a management and problem solution system has been developed for Astronauts, commercial pilots and other personnel in operationally critical roles.

The system optimises interpersonal communications and resource management. The system was originally developed for space flight and aircraft cockpits but is, with modifications, relevant for use in business management.

The university is paid for by the French Ministry of Defence but is mostly a civilian institution.

Over the years ISAE/SupAero has produced a long line of exceptional engineers that has gone on to work with Airbus Industries and some even become European Astronauts.

The university is very well funded and run. the facilities have recently been upgraded with a new research library and upgraded admin and teaching facilities.

Toulouse is the undisputed center of European AeroSpace research and manufacturing. ISAE/SupAero is situated in the Rangueil area in the eastern part of Toulouse, and is surrounded by ENAC, Ecole National Aviation Civile, CNES there french space administration and ONERA the french state aviation research organisation .
